BMW announced pricing today for the 2011 ActiveHybrid 7models during their North American debut at the Los Angeles International Auto Show.
BMW’s first hybrid performance/luxury sedans will arrive in showrooms in Spring 2011 with a base MSRP of $103,125 including destination and handling for the ActiveHybrid 7 and $107,025 for the long wheelbase ActiveHybrid 7L.

2010 Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid debut – LA 2009
The 2010 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid vehicle (PHV) will make it’s North American debut today at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Built specifically to support a global demonstration program that begins this month, the Prius PHV is based on the third-generation Prius. The vehicle expands Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive technology with the introduction of a first generation lithium-ion battery that enables all-electric operation at higher speeds and longer distances than the conventional Prius hybrid.
Cheapest Hybrid: Tata Nano
Fans of India’s Nano will be pleased to hear that a hybrid version of the ‘world’s cheapest car’ may soon also carry the title of ‘world’s cheapest hybrid’ or maybe even the ‘world’s cheapest green car’.
Ratan Tata, chairman of the Tata Group that produces the Nano, revealed the company’s move into the hybrid market in a Maeil Business Newspaper interview. However, no details were provided on what the type of hybrid system the green Nano will have.

Most Fuel-Efficient Automaker: Hyundai America
One year after promising to become the leading manufacturer in fuel economy, Hyundai delivered by topping the latest U.S. Environmental Protection Agency fuel economy report. Hyundai passed all major manufacturers in Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) including traditional leaders like Honda and Toyota.

HH2 Hydrogen system at Los Angeles auto show
Dr. Derek Zupancic, creator of the patent pending HH2 Hydrogen Generator Water Fuel Cell Clean Air Combustion Systems, will show new and improved products in the Los Angeles Auto Show in Kentia Hall, exhibit K-830, located in the lower level of the LA Convention Center.
The unique system extracts separated Hydrogen and Oxygen gases from distilled water in a book-sized device installed in a vehicle. The unit uses a little of the vehicles excess energy to produce just the right amount of Hydrogen and Oxygen gases required to blend with existing fuel sources causing complete combustion of fuel inside the engine combustion chambers.

2010 Mercedes-Benz S400 HYBRID takes sealing, thermal technology
Dana Holding Corporation today announced it is supplying Victor Reinz® sealing products and thermal-acoustical protective shielding (TAPS) for the 2010 Mercedes-Benz S400 HYBRID, which is now available in the United States.
The S400 HYBRID is the first mass-production vehicle in the world that utilizes a lithium-ion battery designed specifically for automotive use.

Hybrid-electric CMT-380 supercar debut at LA auto show 2009
Capstone Turbine Corp. is pushing traditional hybrid-electric vehicle barriers with the introduction of the CMT-380, a high-performance, hybrid-electric supercar powered by traditional batteries and an untraditional, ultra-low emission, range-extending microturbine.
The Capstone microturbine is essentially an ultra-clean and quiet jet engine under the hood.
The prototype hybrid-electric supercar with microturbine technology will debut at the LA Auto Show Dec. 2-13.
