Who’s greenest? BMW! claimed by Dow Jones

BMW Vision EfficientDynamicsTalking about green cars, you may think about the Toyota Prius, Honda Insight or Chevy Volt. But, for an automaker, or its all lineups, who will be the winner?

That is the BMW, who gets the ” Greenest Automaker” declaration from the Dow Jones Sustainability Index World, which has declared BMW Group to be the “most sustainable automobile company worldwide.” last year.

In fact, BMW reminds us it is the only automaker that has been listed on the Index since it was created in 1999. Guess the DJSI likes BMW’s responsibility – the Germans call it Verantwortung – a lot.
Responsibility

Responsibility is an integral part of our corporate identity. As such, corporate sustainability is firmly anchored in our entire value-added chain: from the development of fuel-saving and alternative vehicle concepts through clean production processes to green recycling practices. Our concept of sustainability extends beyond the gates of our plants. We also take responsibility for cultural and social issues and are involved in promoting education and road safety worldwide as well as in projects to fight HIV and AIDS.

We accept responsibility – from conviction, and also because it is in our own interests to do so.
